Plymouth Central cluster comprises of DELL, Crownlands and Sweetpeas Children's Centres. This covers much of the PL3, PL4 and some of the PL5 and PL6 postcodes. Our hub is based at DELL Children's Centre, 375 Blandford Road, Efford. PL3 6JD. If you would like to contact us please ring us on 01752 788992 or email us at plymouthcccentral@barnardos.org.uk

Antenatal & Early Postnatal Support
Our Early Help Supporting Families Team can help make the transition to parenthood less bumpy by offering some additional services. This includes a bra fitting service for expectant mums which is helpful as the thought of going for a bra fitting when you are heavily pregnant can be daunting for many expectant mums. We can also offer 1:1 breastfeeding support with one of our Early Help workers. Please contact us for further details.

We also have a breast pump hire service for those who need help with breast feeding. The pumps can be hired on a monthly basis for £10 (plus a £10 returnable deposit). Our team can also help signpost you to signing up for our Great Expectations Antenatal Programme or our Post Natal Five to Thrive Baby Group.

Community Cafe and Shop
Our site at DELL, Blandford Road has a Community Cafe and pop up shop which serves the local community.

As part of the City wide Child Poverty Strategy we have close working partnerships with a number of different organisations. We collaborate with the Real Junk Food Project who run a 'Pay as you Feel' café on the second Thursday of every month. This uses produce that is damaged or near its sell by date to make delicious dishes which are then served to the public on a pay as you feel basis. Click on the logo for dates and times

Junk Food Cafe dates

Our Tea and Toast morning are drop in sessions which run weekly and allow parents to either drop in for a chat with other parents or for some informal advice with one of our Supporting Families Team.

We also have close links with LIDL supermarkets who supply us with stock that they are unable to sell as it has had its packaging damaged or is near its sell by date. We are then able to distribute this to our most vulnerable families in our area. This helps compliment the service provided by our local Foodbank who have an unprecedented demand on their service.

We also have a community pop-up Shop on our DELL Blandford Road site which is open in partnership with our partners at Barnardos Retail. This is open to the public at various times of the week and stocks a supply of baby clothes and equipment, and household items, which we sell and/or donate to local families in need.

Our Support Cafe runs on a Thursday afternoon between 1-2.30. It is run in partnership with Plymouth Community Homes and as a time to meet new people, build confidence, find out about volunteering options or just opportunity to ask for advice and support

LATCH ON  CAFEPlymouth latch on website link

Our Latch On Breastfeeding support café runs on a Tuesdaymorning from 10-11.30 at DELL Children's Centre. This is manned by our Latch On Peer Supporters who are on hand to offer friendly advice for those mums who are, or who need help with breastfeeding.
