|Community Cafe and Shop|
Our site at DELL, Blandford Road has a Community Cafe and pop up shop which serves the local community.
As part of the City wide Child Poverty Strategy we have close working partnerships with a number of different organisations. We collaborate with the Real Junk Food Project who run a 'Pay as you Feel' café on the second Thursday of every month. This uses produce that is damaged or near its sell by date to make delicious dishes which are then served to the public on a pay as you feel basis. Click on the logo for dates and times
Our Tea and Toast morning are drop in sessions which run weekly and allow parents to either drop in for a chat with other parents or for some informal advice with one of our Supporting Families Team.
We also have close links with LIDL supermarkets who supply us with stock that they are unable to sell as it has had its packaging damaged or is near its sell by date. We are then able to distribute this to our most vulnerable families in our area. This helps compliment the service provided by our local Foodbank who have an unprecedented demand on their service.
We also have a community pop-up Shop on our DELL Blandford Road site which is open in partnership with our partners at Barnardos Retail. This is open to the public at various times of the week and stocks a supply of baby clothes and equipment, and household items, which we sell and/or donate to local families in need.
Our Support Cafe runs on a Thursday afternoon between 1-2.30. It is run in partnership with Plymouth Community Homes and as a time to meet new people, build confidence, find out about volunteering options or just opportunity to ask for advice and support
